The vision of Prem Hoko Dietitian Consultancy is to provide comprehensive dietetic consultancy services (including clinical, food service, health promotion) to the individuals, family (whanau), community and related organisations (district health boards, residential intuitions, private hospitals etc).
The Philosophy of Health for the Prem Hoko Dietitian Consultancy comes from strong health promotion foundations. Prem Hoko brings strong clinical, health promotion, public health and community development experience, both within New Zealand and in the Pacific. Apart from being a New Zealand Registered Dietitian, she also holds a Diploma in Theology.
It is the right of each human being to attain and maintain optimal health through identifying their aspirations, satisfying their needs and coping within the environment they are in. Food is one of the fundamental conditions necessary for health. Other conditions include education, social justice and equity, sustainable environment, peace, income and shelter.
A strong advocate for those not able to meet these needs, it is Prem Hoko’s vision to mediate processes through which clients can come into the fullness of health. Specifically in Dietitian Consultancy, the client/s and their family (where appropriate) are encouraged to be part of the process in identifying their needs and the consultant is seen to provide the expertise/knowledge and experience to enable the client to meet their health goals.
A setting is a place where people live, learn and work and comprises a location and its social context in which people interact daily. Thus the consultancy takes care to meet the people where they live, learn and work.
